On January 16th, 2015, a fairytale came to life as Maryke married St.Clair in a gorgeous contemporary wedding at the picturesque Kronenburg wine estate near Paarl, South Africa. Enzoani spoke to Maryke about her love story and dream wedding:

"I walked into The Wedding Boutique and immediately saw my dream dress on a mannequin. The dress was PERFECT. It had a soft and feminine look to it, but was so modern and striking. As I walked towards the dress, I realized that it actually might be two sizes too small. After trying four dresses in my original size, I still knew I just had to try the PERFECT (way – too – small!!) dress. It took me almost ten minutes to get into the dress but it fit as if it was exactly designed for my body!! I have never felt so beautiful. I felt like a princess, so elegant, yet so comfortable. It was love at first sight!! I wish I could wear my dress every day for the rest of my life.

"Our love story started out as the perfect BLIND DATE. We had common friends who set up the date, and although neither of us really wanted to go on the date initially, we are to this day extremely glad that we eventually went on this date. After four hours of getting to know each other in a popular Stellenbosch Coffee shop, I took off for home in the South Cape for the December holidays.  We both knew that the distance between Stellenbosch and George would not stop us from getting to know our future partners even better. We kept contact and after two weeks of soaking up the sun, my husband-to-be drove down to Hartenbos to spend the day with me. We had so much fun, we both instantly knew that this “blind” friendship was heading for something special. Back in Stellenbosch, St.Clair made no secret about his feelings and we were soon a great couple. Six months later, we were engaged, and in less than a year from the time he asked me to be his girlfriend, we were married. This has been the best journey of my life and to date the best decision that I’ve ever made!! Having a sleepover with my best friend every day...nothing seems more perfect." 

"My husband and I really wanted each guest to experience the Lord’s presence on our special day. After all the planning and getting ready, the perfect moment was when I stood at the top of the amphitheatre where we got married, waiting to walk down to my future husband, seeing tears of joy and happy smiles in the crowd and then feeling a slight breeze just quickly blowing through my hair. I then realized it was God’s way of telling and reminding me that He was there and that this was a divine appointment that He was pleased to join. I tried to soak up every second as it passed by and to really be aware of the great treasures hidden in such a special event! Our wedding day will everlasting be my favourite memory!

What advice would you give to other brides?

"Take time to just STOP, breathe and take in every detail. Remember that this is your special day, and enjoy it!!!"
