#LoveAndWin: Follow the Bride!

In November 2015, Enzoani participated in the #LoveAndWin contest during WeddingFair, a large fair enterprise in The Netherlands which organizes 11 fairs throughout the year for brides across the country. In partnership with one of our retailers in The Netherlands, Compagne Bruidsmode, Enzoani gifted a gown worth €1.000 to a lucky bride that visited one of the fairs. The bride, Milou, eventually chose her Enzoani gown, and the cheque was presented to her by the staff in the store. Each month, Milou will chronicle her bridal journey in a blog post titled "Follow the Bride" for Compagne Bruidsmode. We've translated her story into English below - read on to hear all about Milou's experience...and see everything in video action!

WE’RE GOING TO GET MARRIED!

There once was a handsome prince named Dewy Rijnders. He decided to ask his girlfriend to marry him on their vacation to the Dominican Republic. After a romantic dinner on the beach, Dewy went on one knee…

This is obviously not the beginning of our fairytale, since that began around the end of December 2007. But it's the beginning of the myth that's called marrying. What woman isn't waiting for that?! A day that you can fill up with what you want, because after all, it is one of the most important and most beautiful days of your life.

That’s not what I initially thought. I've also always told Dewy: if you ask me, I will say yes, of course, but if you don’t ask anything, that's okay too. At least that’s what I thought, because since I have been asked to marry him, I'm already busy arranging everything (and we still have 1,5 years to go before the wedding)!

After we told everyone that we would get married, we set a date: Friday, June 2nd, 2017 is our big day. And yes, as excited as I am, I already started looking into things I need for the wedding. Dresses, venues, shoes, clothing, purses, you name it!

Such a wedding fair is very useful for some inspiration. So, with my good behavior, I asked some family members to go to the fair in Zwolle, The Netherlands (November 22). This fair was organized by WeddingFair Nederland. The fair was smaller than expected, but no less fun. There were all great companies that you can visit when you get married. WeddingFair organizes a #Loveandwin contest at each fair. The contest this time was: create a mood board for a wedding dress or a wedding suit or wedding rings.

For a moment I doubted about participating, since I wasn't going to get married until June 2017. Eventually, I decided to take part in the contest.

CONGRATULATIONS MILOU, YOU HAVE WON AN ENZOANI WEDDING GOWN WORTH €1.000!

On Monday, December 7th, I received a phone call: "Congratulations Milou, we thought your mood board was the most attractive, and you have won a wedding gown worth € 1.000!” What goes through your mind then is indescribable! I was shaking and could only smile! Wow, I won a wedding dress! This wedding dress was offered by WeddingFair Netherlands, Compagne Bruidsmode and Enzoani.

What great luck that the collection of Enzoani was exactly my style (the first thing I searched for on the Internet and website of Compagne). Since Compagne organized an Enzoani Trunk Show on Friday, December 11th and Saturday, December 12th (read: the whole crazy gorgeous collection in the store), I was asked if I could come by Friday to fit some dresses. "Sure," I answered.

YES! I’M GOING TO FIND MY DREAM GOWN!

After a whole week of waiting in suspense, finally the day was there that I was allowed to fit some dresses. At 14:00 I arrived at Compagne, along with my mother and best friend. After a very warm welcome, they explained to me what was the meaning of this day. We were interviewed, a movie was made, and after that, I could fit all the Enzoani dresses in peace.

A TIP FOR YOU AS A FUTURE BRIDE: TRY ON LOTS OF DIFFERENT STYLES!

After trying on every gown I wanted to try on, I made a choice! I didn’t expect that I would find my gown 1,5 year before the wedding! Of course I’m not going to tell which gown I chose. But what I can give as a tip of the iceberg: it has become a gown which I never thought I would choose! I found that really funny, because I already knew for sure which kind of dress I did and didn’t wanted. A tip for you as future bride: Try on lots of different styles, because it can be that the dress you wanted isn’t really that pretty on you as you thought. Try something else than what you have in mind!

Of course, the ladies of Compagne have a lot of insight into what looks beautiful and not. They have helped me so much, and it was a wonderful day!

In January, we are going to visit several wedding venues. I already saw some beautiful locations and can’t wait to see them in real life!
