Retailer Spotlight: Tres Chic

A beautiful store based in North Dakota, USA

Meet Tres Chic's Katie Norby, who is the creative director, fashion stylist and boutique owner.  With many years in the bridal industry starting in floral, branching to cosmetic and accessories, and finally working in a bridal salon herself, she has been exposed to all aspects of the wedding industry. Enzoani asked her for tips and advice for future brides as well as what inspires her. Check out beautiful images of her boutique below!

1) What would you recommend a bride do before shopping for that perfect gown?

I encourage brides to glance at bridal magazines, think about the theme of their wedding and how her dress should correlate with that. For instance, a bride wouldn't wear a heavy ball gown with a long train to a beach wedding. A bride should also take into consideration her body shape and what would best flatter her figure. She should consider what she would want to feel like on her special day as well as how comfortable she wants to feel. In addition, when selecting guests to attend your bridal appointment, I encourage brides to bring a small party consisting of those that have their best interest at heart.

2) Share with us a special moment that occurred with you and a bride.

Every bride is special and unique. I have a memorable experience with each one. I don't consider my brides to be clients but good friends. I enjoy getting to know them and their families on a personal level and assisting them not only with their dress but also their dream day.

3) What’s your favorite Enzoani gown and why?

My favorite gown of the Beautiful collection is BT13-18. The slim mermaid skirt and the delicate cap sleeves are two trends that I am particularly fond of and are requested frequently. As a new Enzoani retailer, I am looking forward to receiving all of my samples. Of the ones that I have received so far, this one is the perfect gown for the elegant and romantic North Dakota bride. I feel that this style would work for many different body types and for a variety of wedding themes.

4) Do you have a favorite celebrity bride?

As someone with classic taste, I will always love the looks of brides such as Grace Kelly. However, a trend that I have been drawn to the last few months has been brides taking a departure from the typical white gown and instead wearing light tones of green and pink. I especially enjoyed Jessica Biel's gown as well as Tamara Barney. Both of these brides used a shade of blush instead of the typical white gown. As every individual does not look good in white, I find it very refreshing and empowering to see brides picking colors that look good on them instead of feeling obligated to follow tradition.
