2016 ENZOANI COLLECTIONS RUNWAY DEBUT

"Welcome. Welcome to the secret garden of Enzoani, where love is found and dreams and fantasies come true. Fairies and creatures of the forest come alive, captured by the spell and the beauty that is...Enzoani."

Inside the Guerin Pavilion of the Skirball Cultural Center, lights dim. Birds chirp. The crowd hushes. The orchestra starts. Slowly, soft spotlights of blue and violet illuminate the vine-covered walls, revealing a peacefully sleeping ballerina warmly curled up on the stage floor. Stirred from her slumber by the dreamy, spirited sounds of Felix Mendelssohn's A Midsummer Night's Dream Overture in E major, Op.21, the ballerina begins performing the most graceful of dances, inspiring the rest of the forest to come to life. As five gorgeous Blue by Enzoani-clad models join the ballerina onstage, the show begins.

As the melody of the Overture fades into the bewitching tune of "Bells" by Allison Taylor, the 2016 Blue by Enzoani collection kicks off the runway show for Enzoani's ninth annual Fashion Event. First down the moss-lined runway is Ibanda, a showstopping ball gown featuring a romantic sweetheart neckline and voluminous skirt with tiered tulle layers and horsehair hem. Ibanda is followed by sleek, fitted satin gowns like Ingenio and Ibarra to eye-catching styles with romantic, sexy backs, like Istanbul, Inaru, and Islandia. The ultra-chic Ivalo, featuring an asymmetrical, ruched tulle bodice and sparkling keyhole back, closes out the 2016 Blue collection, making way for the 2016 Beautiful Bridal collection.

First to grace the runway aisles from the latest Beautiful collection is BT16-8, a sweet and sophisticated mermaid gown with delicate chiffon spaghetti straps and a contemporary low V-back. "Gooey" by Glass Animals and "Water from a Vine Leaf" by William Orbit provide the perfect smooth, moody soundtrack for the rest of the 2016 Beautiful collection to make its way down the fantasy garden path. Against the backdrop's organic greenery and the hints of soft pink in the floral walkway, gowns like BT16-12 and BT16-22 stand out with their respective blush and mocha undertones. Classic A-line gowns like BT16-13 and dramatic styles like BT16-29, featuring a breathtaking, long tulle cape with intricate Chantilly hem lace, round out the 2016 Beautiful collection.

Commanding, dramatic, and sultry, The Neighbourhood's "How" is a musical match for the 2016 Enzoani collection as it begins the runway finale. Starting off with Kenzi, a jaw-dropping satin gown with a blend of tulle layers for the mermaid skirt, the 2016 Enzoani collection continued to wow the crowd as gorgeously beaded gowns like Kerianna and Kassidy sparkled down the aisles. Transitioning to the final, upbeat anthem of Snakehips' remix of Banks' "Warm Water," the Enzoani collection completed its debut with stunners like Kristiana, Kylee, and Kendra.

Bookended by another captivating performance by the ballerina, the 2016 Enzoani collections runway show ends with an appearance by Enzoani Designer Kang Chun Lin, acknowledging the support for his 2016 Enzoani creations.
