Awards season starts with a bang in the UK

Things had just started to sink in after winning “Best Bridal Manufacturer” in the 2014 Bridal Buyer Awards when we were surprised with not one, but two awards in the 2014 Welsh National Wedding Awards.

For the second year running, we are over the moon to take home the “Best International Bridal Designer” award for 2014. Just as we had thought this was the highlight of the evening, two of our Enzoani UK team members, Managing Director Jeanette Stevens and Sales Director Mark Stevens, were surprised with the 2014 “Outstanding Contribution to the Wedding World" award as well! 

The panel of judges received multiple nominations for Jeanette and Mark to win this well-deserved award -- here’s why: 

In 2011 when Enzoani wanted to expand the brand in the UK, this husband and wife partnership were the first to step forward. They made the difficult decision to separate from a long-established family business to pursue this opportunity. Despite being a well-known brand in the UK, ‘Enzoani UK' had to start from scratch. The first step was to put together a team who would be just as passionate and committed to Enzoani as themselves. They are the first to say that without the support and hard work of the team, we would not be where we are today.

After spending a year commuting from the Midlands and living in hotels, they made a very tough decision to move from their friends, family, and home in the West Midlands to live in Swansea permanently. This was a very hard decision to make, as anyone who knows them will know how close they are to their family. As if setting up a business from scratch isn’t hard enough work, they were now moving their entire lives across the country. All their family supported them in the decision and knew they needed to follow their hearts.

There were some very hard times at the beginning, and trying to keep the same level of support for our stores and making sure we delivered every bride's dress without fault, all while working out of a porta-cabin, was tough. However, everyone pulled together, and we came out the other side with a beautiful, efficient new warehouse and a close-knit dedicated team.

We’re now entering our 4th year as Enzoani UK, and things are as exciting as ever. Everyone at Enzoani is still on cloud nine after winning “Best Bridal Manufacturer” in the 2014 Bridal Buyer Awards. For Jeanette and Mark especially, it’s been a meaningful recognition of all the hard work they’ve put in. It was a very emotional time, and they are very humbled to receive this award after only three years in business.

The reason why Enzoani Global wanted to have a dedicated office for the UK is because they know the importance of understanding cultural differences. This is one thing Jeanette and Mark are very passionate about; they understand the importance of knowing our customers and adapting to support each and every one in the way they need. Unlike a lot of Managing Directors and Sales Directors, Jeanette and Mark make it their mission to make personal store visits whenever possible. They are often out of the office on country-wide road trips getting to know our stores and their needs. It’s this personal touch which is being recognised worldwide with our other global offices following suit. Jeanette and Mark are strong believers that despite the hurdles we face in the wedding industry from counterfeit dresses to pressure from high-street stores, if we all work together, we can succeed.

With the support of Enzoani Global, Jeanette and Mark have big plans for the future. We have over 160 stores in the UK whom we work very closely with to make sure they have everything they need to provide each bride with her dream dress, and this is made possible with the committed, enthusiastic, and dedicated team we have at Enzoani UK. We are always looking for ways to improve and expand our business, and with the dedication and commitment from Jeanette and Mark...the sky’s the limit.
