#EnzoaniRealBride: Lucy & Luke

A Young Romance Turned Lifetime Love

Love is something many people can go their whole lives searching for. So finding it at a young age is even rarer - and especially magical. Such luckiness in love was experienced by #EnzoaniRealBride Lucy, who shares here with us her beautiful romance, her favorite wedding day memories, and her decision to choose her sweet Enzoani Diana wedding dress

THE DRESS

"Choosing 'the dress' was a long, drawn-out process. That does not mean I did not enjoy it; the searching was fun, and I knew I would find her eventually. My mum and I dedicated a whole week to shopping for it - we went out every day trying on ten or so dresses a day! So, as you can work out, I tried a lot on!

During the week, I loved the Enzoani Dakota dress, but felt I was a little short for it and would rather have had straps. So as soon as I got home, I was on the Enzoani website and then I saw Diana, similar lace, but it had the straps I desired. I tracked her down to Butterfly Bridal Boutique and I absolutely loved the pretty creamy lace, it felt vintage but with a modern fit. I was concerned with the low sweetheart neckline, so I asked if Enzoani could add another inch to this part of the dress, which was done perfectly."

THE LOVE STORY

"Luke and I had been together many years before we got engaged; we met when I was 16 and Luke was 19. We met through friends, and our families had been good friends themselves for many years.

I think some people think it's a little strange to be with the same person from such a young age, but he is my best friend, one of the most supportive people I know and I could not be a luckier person now to be able to call him my husband. We spent 12 years together before we got married, so when Luke popped the question, it was quite a shock! The proposal was on the big wheel at Winter Wonderland in Hyde Park just a couple of days before Christmas. It was so sweet and such a surprise, the rest of the day was a bit of a blur!"

THE WEDDING DAY

"My favourite memory of the day is having everyone there with us under one roof to celebrate.

We had the ceremony and reception at Heythrop Park in the beautiful Wedgwood room and light and airy terrace. The venue has over 300 rooms, so most of our family and friends could stay and enjoy a whole weekend of celebrations.

Walking down the aisle, I felt very emotional, so overwhelmed by everyone being there to see us get married. At the last minute, I asked the wedding coordinator to invite my work friends into the ceremony to see us get married (they were evening guests and off to the spa in the day), so seeing them in their spa get-up while we said our vows made us laugh. I think they felt a little underdressed, but I appreciated it!"
