Pageant Perfection: Enzoani Sponsors Winner of Miss Wales 2015

Enzoani UK model Emma Jenkins crowned Miss Wales 2015!

Miss Wales is the annual qualifier to find the young woman who will represent Wales at Miss World. It’s a glamorous, fun, and empowering experience designed to give young women in Wales the experience of a lifetime.

On Saturday 7th March, UK Managing Director Jeanette Stevens, UK Sales Director Mark Stevens, and UK Marketing Manager Tracie Williams attended the Miss Wales finals at the Princess Royal Theatre in Port Talbot, Wales to support Emma Jenkins & Sadie Maltby, who are both regular models for Enzoani in the UK.

Emma Jenkins, who was competing in the competition for her first time, was crowned Miss Wales 2015, beating thirty-three beautiful ladies to the title! As Emma's sponsor for the competition, Enzoani provided the Black Label Finley gown with a belt AA in black for the final.

We recently caught up with Emma, who will now go on to represent Wales at the Miss World 2015 finals in November.

How did it feel when you heard your name being announced as Miss Wales 2015?

I was so shocked when they called my name. All I kept thinking about was everything I had done to get to this point. I thought about how hard I had worked and how wonderful winning would be. But I knew that every finalist on that stage had worked so hard as well, so it was such an honour and a privilege to be chosen as Miss Wales 2015. I walked over to Alice Ford, Miss Wales 2014, for the crowning and she grabbed hold of me and kissed me and told me, “You deserve it!” It was so touching to think that such a kind and beautiful woman like Alice deemed me worthy of the crown after her. I’m still in shock and I can’t stop smiling.

Why did you choose Enzoani as your sponsor?

Having modelled for Enzoani countless times before, I didn't just love the brand as a major design label, but I had grown to love the team of people too. I have never felt more welcome or appreciated when working for a company. The overwhelming support from each and every team member has been so touching and motivating. I knew that they would do everything they could do to help me during the compeitition, and they more than exceeded my expectations!

What made you choose Enzoani’s Black Finley with Belt AA?

I wanted a dress to WOW! The shape on the Black Finley gown is to die for. I loved the way it moved when I walked and it suited my shape perfectly. The fabric looked amazing under the stage lights and I felt unbelievable in it. Coco Chanel said, "Dress shabbily and they remember the dress; dress impeccably and they remember the woman.” I never truly understood what she meant by that until I put the Black Finley dress on. I told Mark, Jeanette, and Tracie after I won, "I wouldn't have won without this dress!" It made me feel invincible, and it's incredible to think that a dress could change your mental state that much.

You did a lot of charity work in the build-up to the finals. What fundraising activities did you do?

I know better than anyone that the way to people's hearts are through their tummies! I held four coffee mornings, two raffles, a compeitition and a curry night! I raised just shy of £1000, and I am proud of every penny.

Which charities did you raise the money for?

The chosen charity for Miss Wales this year is Beauty with a Purpose, the Miss World charity that helps disadvantaged children worldwide. Beauty with a Purpose chose to support Coram for 2015. Coram is the oldest children's charity in the UK, helping children in vulnerable situations and re-homing those who need it most. It's wonderful to think that the money I've raised this far will be contributing to these children's lives.

Life coach and mentor Harry Singha organsized an empowerment day for the Miss Wales Finalists. The aim of the day was to boost their confidence and to break the negative thoughts and feelings. To symbolize this they were required to write down all of their negative thoughts onto a piece of wood and then break it.

What do you feel is your next step/plans for the future?

Miss World is my next step, which is in November. All of my focus is on continuing to raise vital funds for Beauty with a Purpose and Coram, and to prepare for what will be the biggest year of my life so far! A massive thank you to everyone at Enzoani for your continued support and kind words, I owe so much of my success to you and I am eternally grateful.

Before the finals, Emma, along with a TV crew from Welsh-speaking topical television programme Heno in which she is a researcher and beauty presenter, and Blue by Enzoani stockist and personal friend Huw Rees, went to try on some dresses for the final. In the build-up to the finals, Emma was also featured on Heno wearing Black Label Concord along with other finalists.
