Retailer Spotlight: La Belle Angèle

La Belle Angèle, located in Norwich, Norfolk, is a family run business owned by mother and daughter Kirsty and Melanie Fletcher.

What was the motivation and inspiration to open a bridal store? How did it all start?

After starting and growing a business making bespoke headdresses, tiaras, fascinators and decorated veils there were two driving forces – customers having had such a good service from us asking why we didn’t do bridal and the need for more space to continue to grow the tiara business. An opportunity arose to open a bridal shop in a beautiful old building in the historic “Lanes of Norwich” and that’s how La Belle Angèle by Aurora Designs started. 

What would you recommend a bride do before finding that perfect gown?

Make sure you are the size that you want to be for your wedding before looking for “the dress”. What suits you now may not if your size is going to alter for your wedding.

Every bride has a special moment!  Recently we took on an additional dress maker who had already made her wedding gown. She tried on Frieda by Enzoani with the black shoulder detail, absolutely adored it and couldn’t resist buying it there and then.

Hadil – so simple but beautiful understated elegance.

Do you have a favourite Celebrity bride?

Duchess of Cambridge for bringing back lace in an elegant traditional way but still suited the modern bride.
