Styled Shoot: Frozen Fairytale

Photographer Ruben Tovergoud came together with Fleur van Leeuwen of Glitter Events, Tam and Luc Reichert-Trinh of Sugarlips Cakes, and bridal retailer LaDonna Bruidsmode for a wonderful, wintry photo shoot in The Netherlands featuring our 2015 Blue by Enzoani Harrogate gown. The result was a beautiful and magical styled shoot that captured the essence of one of today's most popular animated films! Enzoani spoke with Ruben about the team's inspiration:

"When we did our first movie-inspired shoot, based on The Great Gatsby, a couple of months ago, we immediately knew this was going to happen more often. Triggered by the cold weather and a certain Disney movie, watched and played daily by my little daughter, the next movie was clear very soon: Frozen! It's a great movie with a lot of elements we could use for our styled shoot. Organizer Fleur was excited too, and in no time, she arranged some great names in the wedding branch."

"I soon knew who I wanted to feature as wedding models: Tam and Luc. They are doing a great job in the wedding industry (they’ve won the "Bruidstaart Specialist" Award at the 2014 Dutch Wedding Awards for their bakery, Sugarlips Cakes) and I thought it should be fun to get them in front of my camera. And yes, they were enthusiastic about it and soon the wildest ideas came by about Rafiki, Mufasa, Ed and other Hakuna Matata figures. I’m glad the idea for Frozen also warmed them up!"

"And frozen it was! Believe it or not, but when the pictures were taken, it was 2 degrees Celsius (35 degrees Fahrenheit). Because we were inspired by the movie Frozen, we actually wanted real ice. Therefore Fleur contacted a location that is very uncommon for love-themed or engagement shoots: an ice skating rink! Ice, gorgeous winter light, and a very handsome bridal couple...Could a photographer ask for more?!
