Styled Shoot: 20’s Glamour for the 21st Century

Planning & Styling company Out of the Box holds gorgeous shoot featuring Enzoani

Looking for a spectacular theme for your winter wedding? How about a 1920’s glamour-inspired party in the vein of the Great Gatsby? With touches of gold, glitter, fur coats, and gorgeous garments, Planning and Styling company Out of the Box held a styled shoot featuring Enzoani 2015 gowns Jaime and July, supported by Enzoani retailer LaDonna Bruidsmode in Nijmegen, The Netherlands.

Enzoani recently interviewed the photographer of the shoot, Els Korsten. She is born and raised in Den Bosch and a real hedonist. She likes great food and coffee, and loves the city life...but the countryside and the big wide world also draw her attention. Her work has brought her to many special places and has lead to a lot of great friendships. Capturing people in the photo is her passion, and the pictures tell her story: “People feel at ease with me, they can with confidence be themselves and show the best of themselves. My creative and spontaneous approach results in appealing and distinctive photography, so special moments are captured forever.”

Why did you choose to work in the photography industry and especially for wedding shoots?

"Photography has been my passion since a very young age. On my 8th birthday I received a camera, and from that moment on I knew I wanted to be a photographer. After many years of experience in the photography industry and also some years in weddings, I now know for sure. Nothing is more beautiful than capturing love! The love between people -- not only the love from the bridal couple, but also from the family, children, and friendships."

What’s your most memorable shoot location and why?

"The most memorable wedding location that I could photograph was Chateau de Fretoy in France. Of course it’s already special that you can go to a beautiful estate in France, but everything felt right! The environment was gorgeous! There was no need for styling, because everything was great already. Also, it was an environment that matched with the bridal couple. It was so relaxed! Because it was such a serene and quiet atmosphere, I could shoot really relaxing images. That’s something I find really important."

Share with us a special moment that occurred with you and a bride.

"I don’t have a specific moment. But what I always find really special, is that I’m immediately accompanying the bride, during hair, make-up, and dress. This is a very intimate moment. She’s always surrounded by only a few people and that makes it special. Brides are often very nervous, and step by step they become the bride that they were waiting to be. And if she is ready and the picture is complete, I always share a special moment with her. Then I look into her eyes, I see her shining and she looks so beautiful! She’s all herself but at the same time a different person. It’s very special!"

How would you describe your photography style / what sets you apart from other photographers?

"My style is capturing the moment as it actually is. If the bridal couple receives the album they should feel like reliving the day all over again, and the feeling of that day should come back. If that’s the fact, my job is done. My photography is natural, spontaneous, creative, and also a bit classical. The pictures should still remain gorgeous in 10 or 20 years from now."
